| Never married and lived in Kansas for a year before he was offered a good job with the railroad. He was transferred to New Mexico Territory where he was getting $3.50 a day, all tax free. John was a member of the 5th Pennsylvania Vol. Infantry and had the fingers of his left hand shot off. He died in an Old Soldiers in Kansas. |
